The Watch and Its Maintenance

Your watch is a sophisticated precision instrument which is constantly subjected to a wide variety of stresses and strains. Numerous components operate together in a small area and each contribute in their own way to ensure all functions work. Wear and tear is the unavoidable result of any mechanical movement. Maintenance serves to control this deterioration by renewing lubrication as well as replacing worn parts. For example, your movement is protected by a case fitted with gaskets to ensure its water resistance. These gaskets progressively deteriorate and must be periodically replaced. Regular maintenance ensures your watch operates as efficiently as possible. This maintenance is termed an "overhaul" and should be performed every 4 to 6 years by an experienced and fully qualified Watchmaker.

At Barclay's Fine Custom Jewellers we offer you the best quality service on your precious timepiece. Our on-site European Certified Watchmaker has over thirty years experience. For more information please visit our website at www.barclaysjewellers.com
